So often, you hear me talk in details on Social Strategy. Well today, let me share my thoughts on why I believe that slideshare could be the “Business YouTube” to help understand, qualify and deliver what clients and your prospects want, and when they want it.

Some of you may already be familiar with the application, and some may not. LinkedIn really brought this platform to life when they launched LinkedIn Apps. Lets look at a few ways that some of the names you follow use slideshare, and so not so well names use this application. For starters, if you are doing research for the Boss, and need some ideas on a subject for your next “not so pretty” Marketing Post Mortum, then start your search on slideshare for ideas. This has all the workings of a viral tool, so be ready to share when you arrive. If your information is still non-sociable, then make it private – but then that’s not the point.

After you register, you will notice that slideshare has created a “sponsored” YouTube like Front Page, allowing this free site for users to be covered by these slideshare advertisers to get them plenty of exposure and views/embeds/downloads (this is where I should/could/would get technical-look for another post on that). Think of this page as mass search and find your company, just like the YouTube and Digg Front Pages. Screenshot of the page: (opens in new window)

Now, let’s go look at something more useful for that meeting you have with the Boss.

Log into or sign up for slideshare and begin searching for whatever is of interest to you

Here are a few good videos that I have seen lately:

David Armano

HubSpot

Charlene Li

Forrester

So, now you have some resources to review and get your plans in motion. What do you think about these ideas, and resources-valuable to you?
