Just as I was looking at the re-post of my post that I posted this morning (dang-that’s a lot of posts hey) “How to push Messages via Shareaholic”, I saw a great video from Scott Willoughby of SEOmoz, showing how you get Retweeted and thought I would share this.

SEOmoz Whiteboard Friday – How to Get Re-Tweeted from Scott Willoughby on Vimeo.
As you can see there are some numbers behind getting the engagement levels up, and a strategy behind how you should be doing this Twitter thing if you want to build relationships (there’s that word again).

Enjoy and Scott would appreciate any feedback, as I would, on how you have been able to get RT’d.

  • Personally, I do not worry about the number of followers I have or the number of times I am retweeted. I retweet that which I find interesting or whorthwhile, I follow those I know or who interest me (content of their tweets, their industry or specific business), and I generally tweet to provide glimpses of what I can do for my clients, to provide specific information related to what I do that others might find worthy or to drive readers to my site. I also tweet to engage in conversations when tweets posted by others lend to that format.

Twitter has provided me with new relationships and does drive business. To that end, what I do is working.
